Texas A&M is in need of an offensive coordinator and the Aggies have reportedly turned to a disgraced former coach to be a candidate for the position.

The dishonorable Bobby Petrino recently emerged as a candidate for the OC job. Chris Hummer of 247Sports reported that the coach is a candidate and will interview for the Aggies‘ job soon. He tweeted, “Missouri State HC Bobby Petrino has emerged as a candidate in Texas A&M’s offensive coordinator search, sources tell 247Sports. He’s expected to interview with the Aggies in the coming days.”

Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher recently fired Darrell Dickey, who previously held the OC title for five seasons. The Aggies hoped to perform better this season, but things didn’t work out. To turn now to Bobby Petrino possibly is, certainly, a decision.

Petrino has not coached at the FBS level since 2018. He had spent the last three years in Springfield, Missouri with the Missouri State Bears.

In 2018, Petrino led Louisville into a tailspin. He was fired in November and the Cardinals bought out the remainder of his contract. Things reportedly did not end well in the locker room, if you can believe that.

That is to say nothing of Petrino’s previous disgraces at Arkansas and with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons either.

Texas A&M sputtered to a terrible season after they held the nation’s top recruiting class. The Aggies recorded a 5-7 record and a last-place finish in the SEC West Division.
