After already sitting two season behind former Georgia Bulldogs starting quarterback Stetson Bennett, many expected that former five-star quarterback prospect Bock Vandagriff would transfer from the program if it was clear that he would not be the team’s starter this upcoming season. But apparently, that will not be the case after all.

According to multiple reports, Vandagriff has decided that he will not enter the transfer portal after all and intends to return to Georgia for the 2023 season.

“Georgia will go into the 2023 season with three quarterbacks on scholarship. DawgsHQ has learned that redshirt sophomore signal caller Brock Vandagriff has decided to stay for at least one more season. Rusty Mansell of Dawgs247 was the first to report,” Jake Rowe wrote for On3 on Wednesday.

As recently as Saturday, Vandagriff was not sure what he planned to do during the spring.

“I’m not sure,” Vandagriff said after the spring game. “I guess there’s some praying to do. But my plans, for now, are to just take it day by day.”

While Georgia has yet to officially name a starting quarterback and Vandagriff will technically still have a chance to compete for the role in the fall, Carson Beck seems to be the clear frontrunner to earn the job.
