CJ Stroud played electrically in Ohio State’s huge win on New Year’s Eve. Stroud needed a bounceback after the Buckeyes fell to rival Michigan for the second consecutive year. The 2022 All-Big Ten First-Team selection met the moment and put on a dominant display that has many frothing about his NFL Draft prospects, even in a loss.

Stroud figured to be one of the top quarterbacks selected in this year’s draft. He’s competing with Alabama star Bryce Young and Kentucky quarterback Will Levis for that, if you believe the draft pundits out there. After Saturday night, Stroud made sure that his name was going to remain in the conversation. He completed 23 of 34 passes, threw for 348 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Stroud was simply dominant on Saturday night.

The Ohio State quarterback had Twitter talking early and often about his draft stock and because of his touchdown passes. His most fantastic may have come to put the Buckeyes up 21-7 in the second quarter.

The tweets kept coming. Ben Axelrod, an Ohio area reporter, tweeted after the amazing TD pass, “CJ Stroud might go 1.1 of that play alone. Good god.”

College football aficionado Bud Elliott tweeted on Stroud, “CJ Stroud making a lot of money tonight by not only elevating his draft stock but also raising questions about his draft competitors. More TDs than Anthony Richardson and Will Levis had against Georgia — combined.”

DCTF’s Ishamel Johnson wrote, “CJ Stroud’s shown more improvisation skill tonight than literally any other game I’ve watched him in.”

MLFootball then tweeted, “CJ Stroud read the scouting reports that said he can’t move and DID THIS”

UPROXX’s Robby Kalland wrote, “Sure CJ Stroud looks good so far but did you see Will Levis against Northern Illinois,”  riffing on the Will Levis love.

And finally, And The Valley Shook put it on the money. ATVS said, “Imagine the NFL teams watching the games Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are having and saying ‘yeah let’s go with Will Levis.'”
