This is the second time this week that someone in college athletics has been accused of attacking a woman. Texas head coach basketball coach Chris Beard was arrested Monday for strangling his fiance.
Violence against women has long been an issue in sports but we’ve gotten used to seeing it more at the NFL level. However, there are a significant number of cases of women being abused on college campuses by athletes. One hopes it doesn’t take someone dying before the schools and NCAA will address this type of violence, especially when it happens involving football players.
