One of the hottest head coaching prospects in college football right now is Jackson State’s Deion Sanders. And behind all of that smoke, it appeared that there was fire with a report this weekend that Colorado has offered Sanders its head coaching position.
On Monday, Sanders confirmed that he had indeed received an offer, though he refused to comment further on whether or not he was saying no or accepting it.
“The report is true,” Sanders told reporter Kyle T. Mosley.

When Sanders took over at Jackson State in 2020, many wondered if the unproven coach would be able to handle the position. However, in less than three seasons, he’s 26-5 and has turned the Tigers into an FCS powerhouse. Hence the interest from Colorado.
“At Colorado, where they’re desperate to pump some life into this program, CU has offered Deion Sanders from Jackson State the job,” Bruce Feldman reported this weekend. “I’m told he has legit interest in becoming the Buffs’ new head coach. … I’m told if he can go there, and there’s people at CU that are optimistic, he will make this program nationally relevant for the first time in a long, long time.”
Sanders has also reportedly received interest from South Florida and has had his name in the mix with Auburn.
