Deion Sanders Deion Sanders

With Deion Sanders and the No. 19 Colorado Buffaloes getting ready for their toughest test of the season this weekend as they head to Eugene to face the No. 10 Oregon Ducks, the college football world is buzzing over Sanders’ latest interview.

The first-year head coach sat down with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks to discuss a variety of topics, but one quote in particular has plenty of people reacting.

“I’m not a moment, I’m a monument,” Sanders said when Rooks brought up Colorado critics saying the program is having a “moment.”

Sanders has done a tremendous job so far in his first year in Boulder, leading the Buffaloes, who won one game last season, to three wins in their first three games. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders is second in the country in passing yards with 1,251 and is one of just seven quarterbacks with ten or more touchdown passes.

“Moments that have consistency translate into monuments,” Sanders told Rooks before calling himself a monument. He was clearly very proud of the quote, as he repeated it a second time.

If nothing else, Sanders has provided college football with a near-constant talking point, the likes of which haven’t been seen in quite some time, especially at a school like Colorado.

Social media had plenty to say about Sanders’ new quote.
