This week, the Ohio State Buckeyes honored college football’s only two-time Heisman Trophy winner in an extremely unique way when they gave him an honorary handoff and allowed him to score a touchdown during the team’s annual spring game. It was a fun moment, but former Michigan Wolverines wide receiver Desmond Howard took the opportunity to troll him for it.
After the touchdown run, a photographer found Archie Griffin on the sideline and asked him to recreate the iconic Heisman Trophy pose for a picture. That interaction seemed to have caught the attention of Howard.
“Camera guy gave Arch the ball and said, “do that thing the Michigan player did,” Howard said in a tweet this week.

Howard, of course, is referring to an iconic moment that occurred during a game against Ohio State back in 1991. During the game, Howard had a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown, helping lock up the 1991 Heisman Trophy. And in celebration, he struck the iconic Heisman pose in the end zone.
While Howard certainly has a claim to the most iconic Heisman pose touchdown celebration in college football history, it’s safe to say that Griffin has a claim to the pose, too. After all, he did win the award twice.
