The Georgia Bulldogs won the College Football Playoff national title this season, claiming the title for the second season in a row. But despite the on-field triumph, they won’t be celebrating with United States President Joe Biden at the White House this year.
According to a report from Seth Emerson of The Athletic, the Georgia Bulldogs have declined an invitation to visit Joe Biden at the White House this year, claiming that the date suggested by the White House was “not feasible.”
“Unfortunately, the date suggested is not feasible given the student-athlete calendar and time of year,” a statement from Georiga Athletics said. “However, we are appreciative of the invitation and look forward to other opportunities for Georgia teams moving forward.”

The Athletic reports that the White House did have discussions with Georgia about visiting at some dates earlier this spring, including back in March, but they were not given official invitations.
The Bulldogs did not visit the White House following their 2021 national championship victory, for reasons that were publically cited as COVID-19 protocols. With Georgia not visiting the White House this year, that means that the last college football team to celebrate a national title at the White House was the LSU football team after the 2019 season
