There are no bigger shoes to fill in the 2023 college football season than Stetson Bennett’s, given that he led the Georgia Bulldogs to consecutive national titles.
It appears that Carson Beck will be the quarterback to do so, especially after putting together a solid performance in the Georgia spring game on Saturday.
The former four-star QB recruit put together an impressive day, going 18-of-22 for 231 yards and a touchdown while also showing off his poise and mobility throughout the day.

After the game, Beck confirmed to reporters that he felt really natural out there and the offense was executing well.
“I felt like everything was working. [Offensive coordinator Mike] Bobo was really dialing it up,” said Beck. “I just told him that after, when we just talked. He was dialing it up, we were executing, guys were getting open, guys were catching balls, guys were making plays. It’s really easy whenever we do that and we’re executing on all levels.”
Coach Kirby Smart praised all three of his quarterbacks after the game, perhaps not wanting to make it all about Beck in spite of his impressive output.
“I was really pleased with all three quarterbacks, and what you saw today was some of what we’ve seen all spring,” Smart admitted. “We have three good quarterbacks who can make the throws and do a really good job, I was pleased with those guys.”
