Iowa Hawkeyes customs helmets

The Iowa Hawkeyes are set to take on the Wisconsin Badgers Saturday in a military appreciation game, and the program unveiled some awesome custom helmets for the game Tuesday.

Iowa showed off the new helmets in a social media video. The helmets feature the colors of the American flag on their Hawkeye logo instead of their traditional yellow-and-black scheme.

Iowa also released a hype video for the helmets, with the caption, “For Those Who Served” on the tweet.

Many Iowa fans took to social media following the announcement to voice their opinions on the military-themed helmets.

It certainly seems like these helmets are a resounding win for Iowa, with many excited to see their debut on Saturday.

Many have been extremely critical of Iowa Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz due to the team’s stagnant offense for much of the season.

However, they have dramatically turned things around in recent weeks, scoring 33 and 24 points in back-to-back games.

Both Wisconsin and Iowa are 3-3 in conference play thus far this season.

This game could help decide who wins the Big Ten West, with Illinois currently leading the division with a 4-2 conference record.

Iowa is currently listed as a 1.5-point underdog in the matchup according to Caesars Sportsbook, so it should make for an extremely tight game that should be extremely entertaining.
