Joe Biden Arizona Republic

Last week, United States President Joe Biden was hit with some pretty brutal claims after a report questioned his memory. Biden was quick to defend himself in a press conference, but the press conference itself then became the subject of ridicule from Republicans.

The report from a special counsel described the president’s memory as “hazy,” “fuzzy,” “faulty,” “poor” and having “significant limitations.” But in response to the report, Joe Biden claimed in a press conference that his memory was “fine,” but in that same press conference he made a pretty significant error when he referred to Egypt’s leader Abdel Fattah El-Sissi as “the president of Mexico.”

This mental mix up from Biden led to the House Judiciary Republicans to mock the president with a college football meme.

“Joe Biden to his staff: ‘We need to go on the offense tonight,'” the House Judiciary GOP said in a post on social media which also included a photo of the Iowa Hawkeyes football team in the huddle on offense, which the Republicans joked was Biden’s “offense.”

For those unaware, the Iowa Hawkeyes have performed notoriously poorly on the offensive side of the ball in recent years, so the Republicans are insinuating that Biden went on offense, but it was not very effective.

All in all, it’s pretty horrible news that Biden is getting openly mocked like this, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

It’s clear that it was a pretty clever joke for everyone who understood it.
