Rob Riggle at Kansas Rob Riggle begins hosting Late Night in the Phog Friday night inside Allen Fieldhouse by showing fans where he would sit while a student at Kansas University.

ESPN’s College GameDay is visiting Lawrence, Kansas for the first time as the No. 19 Kansas Jayhawks host the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs.

Kansas is in the midst of an epic 5-0 start to their season, they’re ranked for the first time since 2009, they’re selling out their football stadium, and they’ve announced major renovations for their stadium and football facilities. It’s a banner time to be a Kansas football fan.

Each week, when College GameDay shows up in town, they invite a guest picker to join Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, and Desmond Howard at the studio desk. Sometimes, that picker is related to the host school in some manner. This week’s guest picker is no exception.

Comedian Rob Riggle, who attended Kansas for college, is coming back to be this week’s guest picker. He made the announcement via video on the College GameDay Twitter account.

The former Daily Show correspondent has also done a lot of work in the world of football. He did comedy skits and predictions for Fox NFL Sunday from 2012 to 2019.

College football fans reacted to the news that Kansas alum Riggle would be the guest picker on College GameDay this Saturday, with some noting other potential choices that could have been considered.
