The Kentucky Wildcats will be making a big change for their fans heading into the 2023 college football season.

According to a report from Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, the Kentucky Wildcats will sell beer at their home football games for the first time in program history this season.

“BREAKING: Two sources tell KSR the decision has been made to allow Beer sales this fall at Commonwealth Stadium I would expect an official announcement this week,” Jones said in a tweet on

The move comes after the school began a trial run with the baseball team this fall, selling alcohol at Kentucky home baseball games this fall.

“Our priority is, as always, to positively impact our student-athletes and the experience of our fans,” Barnhart said before allowing sales at Kentucky baseball games according to KSR. “As has been our longstanding practice, we approached this deliberately, keeping in mind our priorities and principles. We focused on data and the lessons learned and best practices from other institutions.

“After careful consideration of these factors, we concluded that the time is right to implement a pilot program at baseball and softball games this season so that we can learn more.”

It seems that the trial run went well, and now alcohol will be sold at football games.
