Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray was one of the most dominant quarterbacks in college football during his final season, winning the 2018 Heisman Trophy before becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. But despite its dominant conclusion, his college career did not get off to a hot start.
Rated as a five-star prospect out of high school, Kyler Murray ultimately signed with the Texas A&M Aggies out of high school, where he began his college career before transferring to Oklahoma. But in some recent comments, it appears he regrets his initial college decision in a big way.
This weekend, Oklahoma unveiled a statue honoring Murray after he won the Heisman Trophy in 2018. Murray was honored with a ceremony during halftime of the team’s spring game on Saturday afternoon during which Murray had a chance to speak – and he had a clear message for Texas A&M, calling it “the wrong school.”
“Kinda had a rocky start to my college career. I picked the wrong school,” Murray said, according to George Stoia III of Sooner Scoop.

It’s quite a blunt quote, and it went viral throughout the college football world on Saturday as plenty of people offered their reactions.

I can see Texas fans laughing at this yet also hating it at the same time. https://t.co/N66P0jWW9v

It’s safe to say the Aggies probably regret letting Murray go, too.
