If it’s not clear by now, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is planning to remain the head coach of the Rebels despite reports to the contrary of his departure.
But Kiffin admitted earlier in the week that he had to address the issue with his team and apparently this distraction took its toll on them as they lost the Egg Bowl Thanksgiving night to Mississippi State, 24-22.
As expected, Kiffin was not happy with reporters, one, in particular, that reported he is on his way to being the new head coach at Auburn.

“It was falsely reported by Jon (Sokolof), who is now famous,” Kiffin said Thursday. “Congratulations. That you can just write whatever you want … I would do it, too, I think. You’re never held accountable and you get to become famous … maybe you’ll be right. Jon did it, so then I had to have a team meeting to say his article was wrong, which I’d love to know these unnamed sources from Jon.
“I had to have a team meeting because of that. They don’t … when there’s other stuff in chat rooms … but when a reporter writes it, it changes the game of that.”
Despite blasting Sokolof, Kiffin still hasn’t confirmed if he plans to sign an extension with Ole Miss, which is why many think he still may be interested in the Auburn job.
