Under current head coach Ryan Day, the Ohio State Buckeyes have recently become known as one of the top destinations for high-profile quarterbacks in the country due to the team’s ability to get the players to the NFL. And Ohio State just landed another talented quarterback prospect: four-star quarterback Lincoln Kienholz.

A four-star quarterback out of Pierre, South Dakota, Lincoln Kienholz was originally committed to play quarterback with the Washington Cougars. But after a trip to Columbus for last month’s rivalry game against the Michigan Wolverines, Kienholtz officially flipped his commitment to Ohio State on Wednesday.

“After long talks and consideration, I and very blessed with this opportunity. Thank you to @CoreyDennis_ and the staff and also everyone that’s been along on this ride. I’m excited to announce I am committing to @OhioStateFB 🌰. #GoBuckeyes,”Kienholz said in a Tweet on Wednesday morning.

His commitment is huge news for the Buckeyes, and the college football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Tanner Castora of Keloland Sports revealed Kienholz’s diverse skillset outside of football.

John Garcia Jr. of Sports Illustrated pointed out that Ohio State regularly flips talented quarterbacks late in the recruiting cycle.

Chris Renne of Land Grant Holy Land points out that Kienholz has been quickly rising up the quarterback ranks over the past few weeks and months.

Michael Cohen of Fox Sports points out that Ohio State’s quarterback position will be open next season when C.J. Stroud ultimately declares for the NFL Draft.

Ohio State’s last two starting quarterbacks were drafted at the top of the first round in the NFL Draft, and C.J. Stroud will be the third next year. Kienholz hopes to follow that tradition.
