Lincoln Kienholz

Back in December, four-star quarterback recruit Lincoln Kienholz out of Pierre, South Dakota signed his letter of intent to play football for the Ohio State Buckeyes, where he’ll hope to join a long line of successful Ohio State QBs. But it looks like he could have helped their basketball team, too.

While Lincoln Kienholz saw his high school football career come to a close in the fall, he’s still playing basketball for his high school team. And this week, he unleashed what might have been the dunk of the year.

Midway through the third quarter, Kienholz made a great defensive play, intercepting a pass at the top of the three-point arc. He tipped the ball to himself, then ran uncontested down the court. As he approached the hoop, the crowd began to stand because they knew something spectacular was about to happen – and they were right.

Kienholz unleashed a spectacular windmill dunk, and the crowd went crazy.

“Dunk of the year candidate? @DigitalZSD love the reaction from teammates and young fans as much as the dunk itself @LincolnKienholz,” Jon Winkler said in a tweet.

The dunk understandably got quite a bit of attention from the sports world.

Maybe Ohio State basketball coach Chris Holtmann should have recruited him, too.
