The 2022 college football season hasn’t gone quite according to plan for the Miami Hurricanes this season as the team has just a 5-5 record so far this season despite entering the year as the preseason No. 16 team in the AP Poll. As a result, some players’ parents have been quite critical of some of the coaches on social media – and head coach Mario Cristobal isn’t necessarily happy about it.
During his weekly press conference on Wednesday, Cristobal was asked about some of the comments made by parents on social media as a result of the team’s most recent game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. While Cristobal had not necessarily seen the comments, he still addressed the situation.
“I’m a parent myself, and I think it’s important to teach our own children to handle stuff like adults, in a face-to-face manner,” Cristobal said, according to On3.
As for how he generally deals with angry parents complaining about their sons’ playing time, Mario Cristobal had a pretty honest, hilarious, and blunt response.
“A parent is very free and welcome to come pick up their son if they’re not happy with their playing time at the University of Miami,” Cristobal said. “I guess that’s my philosophy.”
