The Michigan Wolverines football program is gearing up for its first season under the stewardship of head coach Kyle Whittingham, who was brought in to replace the outgoing Sherrone Moore, who was fired for what the university determined to be an “inappropriate relationship” with a female staffer.
“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” Michigan announced in December. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”
Following his termination, Moore was accused of confronting the staff member in question at her home, which led to him initially facing criminal charges, including a felony, third-degree home invasion, which could’ve resulted in jail time.
On Tuesday, Moore received his sentencing from the honorable J. Cedric Simpson in a Washtenaw County courthouse.
Sherrone Moore has been sentenced to 18 months of probation.
The former Michigan HC is to have no contact with Paige Shiver.

Moore is set to be put on probation for 18 months and was ordered by Simpson to pay around $1,000 in fines. The judge also credited Moore’s wife for sticking by Moore’s side during his professional and legal challenges.
“You sir, take her for granted,” Simpson told Moore of his wife.
It’ll be interesting to see if Moore returns to the sidelines as a coach at the college ranks.
