The Michigan Wolverines notched a major blowout victory over the Michigan State Spartans in their rivalry showdown this weekend that saw the Wolverines scoring a final touchdown with just eight seconds left on the clock to run up the score and rub salt in the wound. And Michigan State interim head coach Harlon Barnett took notice.
During his press conference on Monday, Harlon Barnett said he knew the Wolverines were going to try to score one more time to run up the score, which didn’t necessarily surprise him. And he had what sounds like a world of warning for Michigan – “I always remember.”
“I told our guys on the headsets, ‘I said they’re gonna try, they’re trying to score,’” Barnett said Monday according to On3. “I’m not surprised, not surprised. Not at all … (I will) definitely (remember that). I always remember. I’m gonna remember everything about that game.”
Unfortunately for Michigan State, they’ll now have to wait an entire season to have another chance to avenge the lopsided loss to their in-state rivals. But it sounds like Michigan’s efforts to run up the score will not be forgotten by the Michigan State team throughout this offseason and leading up to next year’s game.
