The Nebraska Cornhuskers need a new head football coach and one Baylor Bears insider says that they plan on going all-in to try and lure Baylor head coach Dave Aranda away.
While Matt Campbell and Urban Meyer and Bill O’Brien are being bandied about as potential replacements for Scott Frost, Locked on Baylor host Drake Toll says that a source is telling him that Nebraska will “give the kitchen sink” to Aranda to entice him to leave.
NEW: Sources according to @drakectoll say Nebraska is going to “give the kitchen sink” to make Baylor head coach Dave Aranda the next head coach of Nebraska.

Toll added that his source said, “they’re going to give Dave Aranda everything possible that they can give him, such as every school did that wanted Dave Aranda last year.”
Aranda was an extremely hot coaching commodity last year after resurrecting the program from 2-10 in his first season to 12-2 with a Big 12 title and Sugar Bowl victory in his second year. The Bears are 2-1 so far in 2022 and are expected to be competitive once more, which means you can expect plenty of schools, Nebraska included, to kick the tires on him once more.
While you could make the case that Aranda is better off at Baylor, for now, there’s something to be said for being the guy who resurrects Nebraska and makes them competitive in the Big Ten.
For now, it’s all speculation, like with so many other coaching candidates, but it’s a potential coaching hire to consider as the season goes on.
