Over the past few weeks, the United States has found itself in the midst of a trade war with Canada, which has resulted in President Donald Trump declaring that Lake Ontario is now named Lake America. In the midst of that trade war and all of the commentary on social media, a prominent Fox Sports college football analyst has taken a pretty clear shot at Canada.
In a post on X, Fox Sports gambling analyst Chris “The Bear” Fallica went as far as to question why anyone would want to live in or even visit Canada after his recent trip to Vancouver.
Who is ‘The Bear?’
Anyone who has watched either ESPN’s College GameDay or Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff on Saturday morning over the past several years is likely quite familiar with Fallica, who goes by the nickname The Bear.
Fallica joined ESPN’s College GameDay all the way back in 1996, beginning as a research producer before transitioning to an on-air role, delivering his “Bear Necessities” segment with betting tips and game predictions beginning in 2013 until leaving the show following the 2022 college football season.
In 2023, Fallica joined Fox Sports as a wagering expert and contributor to Big Noon Kickoff. He now hosts the “Bear Bets” podcast alongside former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz.
Fallica Criticizes Canada
Over the past few days and weeks, discourse about the relationship between Canada and the United States has intensified on social media. This week, Fallica responded to one of those posts while offering a scathing review of Canada himself.
“Canada should be forced to observe all US holidays,” wrote the prominent X account Three Year Letterman, an account that parodies a “youth football coaching legend.”
Fallica responded to that post, adding a rather harsh assessment of the country.
“Coach, you again were correct. I spent a day in Vancouver two weeks ago and I have no idea why anyone would live in or even visit Canada. I couldn’t get home to the USA fast enough,” Fallica wrote in a post on X.
Clearly, The Bear is not a fan of Canada.
