Many around the college football world have been concerned about Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline after his ATV accident late last week. Fortunately, a positive update emerged about the former NFL wide receiver from Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day.

Hartline’s accident did come with controversy. It was revealed that he had been drinking alcohol prior to operating the vehicle.

Regardless, Ryan Day revealed on Thursday that he is “doing much better”.

“He’s resting up and doing much better,” Day told The Columbus Dispatch.

While it is promising that Hartline appears to be doing better, Day added that there isn’t currently a timeline for the coach to resume his duties with Ohio State.

Day also discussed any potential repercussions coming for Hartline’s alcohol consumption at the time of the crash. He detailed that he “did not have an idea” of whether any internal disciplinary actions could come for him.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is still currently investigating the case, but to this point no charges have been filed against him.

Hartline has been a coach who has been praised highly not only for his coaching abilities on the field but also as a recruiter for Ohio State since joining the program in 2018.

Since arriving at the program, Hartline has helped land 5 five-star wide receivers. This has made him a hot commodity in the coaching world, even being named as a candidate for numerous coaching jobs before his promotion at Ohio State.

Hopefully for his sake, Hartline can put this unfortunate situation behind him and help Ohio State to another successful season this fall.
