The Ohio State Buckeyes were able to overcome some very difficult playing conditions on Saturday to get a conference victory over Northwestern that got the prestigious football program an FBS record.

Ohio State typically relies on the excellence of star quarterback C.J. Stroud in the passing game, but it was the ground game that got the job done against Northwestern.

The Buckeyes accumulated 207 yards on the ground, 79 of which came from Stroud, which was a career-high for rushing yards in Stroud’s collegiate career.

This victory was a big one for Ohio State, breaking the FBS record for most consecutive games scoring 20 or more points with 70 consecutive games.

Many took to social media to applaud Ohio State for its sustained excellence on offense over the years.

It was certainly not the performance that many Ohio State fans were expecting from their team on Saturday.

Ohio State came into the game as 38-point betting favorites in the game according to Caesars Sportsbook and came nowhere close to covering that spread with their 21-7 victory.

Regardless, winning is the name of the game for the Ohio State Buckeyes at this point in the season, and they came out of the game unscathed.

They will look to keep both their scoring streak and their undefeated season alive next week in a matchup against Indiana, where they will look to win in a far more convincing fashion.
