Joel Klatt is rather bullish on Ohio State in the College Football Playoff.

The Buckeyes are the No. 4 seed in the 2023 CFP. Despite losing to rival Michigan, the Bucks will have a chance at their first CFP Championship since they won the very first one handed out in 2015. But Ohio State will have its work cut out for them as No. 1 Georgia awaits them in the Peach Bowl.

Oddsmakers don’t like the Buckeyes against the Bulldogs. The Bucks are currently a 6.5-point underdog against the Dawgs for the game on New Year’s Eve. Ohio State has one of the best offenses in the nation. But obviously, Georgia and its defense have stars everywhere and are a tough nut to crack.

But Klatt is confident the Buckeyes could pull off the upset. The Fox analyst spoke on his podcast this week and gave them a shot to win.

Via On3, “Yes, they do have a chance to beat Georgia. Is it a matchup that if I was Georgia, I would be thinking to myself, ‘Man, this is what we get for the number one seed?’ Yeah, of all the possible matchups, I think this is the one that gives Georgia the most problems. Namely … if they do struggle, the one thing that you have to do well is throw the football.”

Klatt continued. “Georgia over their last let’s see 30 call it eight games, you know, when they’ve given up less than 400 yards of total offense, they’re 34-0. And when they give up more than 400 yards of total offense they are 1-3 in those games. So yeah, Ohio State has a chance.”

Klatt still wouldn’t go all the way with a full prediction that Ohio State will win. But Klatt won’t rule out that the Buckeyes could win.
