Earlier this year, five-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston announced his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes, hoping to become the latest in a long string of dominant Ohio State defensive linemen. But this week, he went through a scary situation regarding his health.

According to a report from Gary Adornato of High School FN of Sports Illustrated, Eddrick Houston collapsed on the field following his Buford team’s 28-25 victory over Norcross in the Georgia 7A high school football state playoffs.

“The Ohio State commit went down in the midst of the postgame celebration and was attended to for several minutes by team trainers as his teammates and the remaining crowd looked on in stunned silence,” Gary Adornato wrote for High School FN of Sports Illustrated.

“After several minutes the senior was finally able to stand before being quickly whisked away on a cart.”

Adornato was not able to provide any more information about Houston’s condition, but as news of the incident reached social media, several fans reached out to express concern about the future Ohio State star.

Houston, who has been dominant for Buford this season, is expected to sign with the Buckeyes during the NCAA’s early signing period in December, beginning his career with the Buckeyes.
