The Ohio State Buckeyes appear to have receded back into their old habits under head coach Ryan Day. The Buckeyes are now on a two-game win streak after having been upset both by the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten Championship and then the Miami Hurricanes in the Cotton Bowl in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.
Day took over as play caller against the Hurricanes, and struggled mightily managing the added duties of offensive coordinator as well as head coach, just as he had before hiring Chip Kelly as the program’s offensive coordinator last season.
Now, on top of all of the other frustrations Buckeyes fans have, they’re now coming to terms with what figures to be the loss of one of the standouts on their coaching staff, per one Buckeyes personality on social media.
Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia shared a very strong message to Columbus, OH on his Instagram.
“Grateful. Thankful. All the emotions. Impossible to put into words what this season meant to me.
“Buckeye Nation, you are beyond compare. On behalf of my entire family, thank you for welcoming us with open arms. You made this season a joy from start to finish,” Patricia posted

Now, popular Twitter account Woody is thinking that this is a goodbye message from Patricia.

Fans reacted to Woody’s take on social media.
“Day needs to wake up and do what urban did, 2 year guarantees to come to osu Otherwise this will continue,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The guy is going to be interviewing for NFL openings and you’re pissed he won’t stay in Ohio for longer?” someone else added.
“College fans gotta understand for the best coaches if they’re in college after the NFL, they will only be there until they can get a head coaching gig. These guys want to coach the best of the best,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Day can get the program back on track for the doozie that next year’s schedule will be for the Buckeyes.
