The Ohio State Buckeyes were able to sneak into the College Football Playoff, but it now seems like they will be without a big offensive weapon in their CFP semifinal matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Star running back TreVeyon Henderson took to social media on Tuesday, revealing that he will not be playing in the game due to a lingering foot issue that kept him out of three of the Buckeyes’ last five games on the year.
“As much as I wanted to finish out the season with my brothers, I know god have bigger and better plans for me! It’s always light at the end of the tunnel, be back better than ever,” Henderson tweeted.

This message also likely means that Henderson would not be available to play the winner of the TCU/Michigan winner in the National Championship.
Many Buckeyes fans are not pleased with this news and believe that this may hamper them significantly in the College Football Playoff.
“Gotta show love to a guy that gave it everything he could,” tweeted former Buckeyes cornerback Chimdi Chekwa.
“Another injured star the Buckeyes will not have back for the playoff,” tweeted Dean Straka of 247 Sports.
“First Jaxon Smith-Njigba and now TreVeyon Henderson,” tweeted Michael Cohen on Fox Sports.
It was certainly not the end to his season that Henderson would have wanted. He will join star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba as an inactive for the Buckeyes, which does not bode well for their chances against Georgia.
The Buckeyes currently sit as 6.5-point underdogs in the matchup according to BetMGM, and this disappointing news undoubtedly will not help things.
Henderon’s absence will put more pressure on star quarterback C.J. Stroud to perform well against a Georgia defense that ranks second in the FBS in points allowed per game.
