Arch Manning Syndication: Austin American-Statesman

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, the nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, is gearing up for his first season as the Longhorns’ starter after serving as the backup to Quinn Ewers for his Freshman and Sophomore years.

Thanks in no small part to the name on the back of his jersey, Manning is one of the most hyped college athletes in recent memory, and one prominent college football analyst is giving him some of the highest praise possible.

“Arch Manning is the best college football quarterback we have seen since Tim Tebow entered the scene in 2006,” said ESPN’s Paul Finebaum in an appearance on Get Up.

Fans reacted to the bold proclamation on social media.

“(Paul Finebaum) out here rewriting history like Arch Manning was the second coming of Joe Burrow. Ohio State didn’t just beat Texas, they exposed them. Maybe worry less about hypotheticals and more about how your SEC darling got clamped when it mattered,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Arch Manning is going to be awesome, no doubt. Any team would love to have him as QB1. Unfortunately (Paul Finebaum) is a moron, always will be,” someone else added.

“The media is dumb as rocks arch Manning did not even start over a man drafted in the seventh round. Paul Finebaum is starstruck over the Mannings like most of the media,” another person added.

It’l be interesting to see if Manning can live up to the hype surrounding him.
