While the Georgia Bulldogs are seen by many as the team to beat again this upcoming football season, at least one person isn’t sold just yet.

ESPN College GameDay host Rece Davis says he doesn’t think the Georgia Bulldogs are the best in the country and that they are unproven.

Davis’s main concern with the Bulldogs is at quarterback where they will have to replace Stetson Bennett.

“Quarterback and it’s not that they don’t have talented guys, Carson Beck likely the starter,” Davis said. “I was told by someone close to the Georgia program just a couple of days ago that Brock Vandagriff has been really terrific in fall camp. So they’ve got a couple of talented options but they’re unproven.”

Davis’ No. 1 team in the country to at least start the season is the Michigan Wolverines. But he says that if the Bulldogs can hold off both Ole Miss and Tennessee during the regular season, they may be right back in the College Football Playoff.

“While I don’t have them ranked No. 1 to start in the preseason poll, I have Michigan on top, it’s not unreasonable to think that Georgia is just going to reload,” Davis said. “The schedule suggests that they really only have 2 games that they could even find a way to give away over the course of the regular season.”
