The Ohio State Buckeyes are looking to replace several key departures this offseason. The biggest name is star quarterback C.J. Stroud, who might be the top overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. But the biggest concern for the Buckeyes right now is the offensive line – and head coach Ryan Day might go to the transfer portal to help address it.

The Buckeyes still have not found a starting right tackle as Tegra Tshabola and Zen Michalski have split first-team reps this spring. And since nobody has stepped up and earned the starting spot, Ryan Day did not rule out potentially adding a player from the transfer portal to compete for the starting spot in the fall.

“I think that’s a conversation to have,” Day said during his press conference on Wednesday according to Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors. “We got to kind of go through and see how the game plays out, see how that looks on film, take the body of work, and then make some decisions from there. But we’ll kind of have those conversations and see where we’re at.

“It’s a delicate situation, for sure. I think we believe in the guys that we have. Otherwise, we would, we’d say yeah, we got to bring in a guy. I think we believe in the guys, we know that they can do it. We’re looking for more consistency.”

We’ll have to see what Day and the Buckeyes ultimately do, but it seems like Ohio State might be in the market for a tackle in the transfer portal.
