Spencer WEbb

The Oregon Ducks suffered a tragic loss just before the start of the 2022 season when tight end Spencer Webb passed away at the age of 22 after a rock climbing accident. And as the Pac-12 conference season kicks off conference play this weekend, the entire conference is coming together for a touching tribute.

The Pac-12 announced on Saturday afternoon that all six Pac-12 stadiums hosting games on Saturday will paint their four-yard lines in Oregon Duck yellow for their games. The move is to honor Webb, who wore No. 4 with the Ducks.

“To honor the life of @oregonfootball’s Spencer Webb on the first weekend of conference play, our Pac-12 family joined today in painting all 4-yard marks with @GoDucks yellow across the league,” the conference announced in a Tweet on Saturday.

As the home teams on Saturday, Washington State, Oregon State, Colorado, California, Washington and Arizona State will all be participating in the touching tribute.

The classy move from the Pac-12 earned plenty of praise from the college football world on Saturday afternoon.

Oregon will honor Webb throughout the season after the 4-yard lines on each side of the field inside Autzen Stadium. The Ducks will also don a spider web decal featuring Webb’s No. 4 on their helmets for the 2022 season.
