Last week, Ohio State got some really bad news at running back as star running back TreVeyon Henderson was ruled out before last week’s game against the Indiana Hoosiers and other star running back Miyan Williams left the game on a cart with an apparent leg injury. But the Buckeyes got some positive updates on both running backs this week.

After missing the past two games, TreVeyon Henderson will play for the Ohio State Buckeyes during Saturday’s game against the Maryland Terrapins, according to college football insider Pete Thamel. While Williams will not play against Maryland, Thamel reports that the team is optimistic he could play next week against the Michigan Wolverines.

“Some good news this morning for Ohio State’s depleted running back room. Star sophomore TreVeyon Henderson, who missed the last two games with a foot injury, will be back at Maryland today for the Buckeyes,” Thamel said during ESPN’s College GameDay pregame show, according to On3. “Ohio State’s other star running back, Miyan Williams, is out today. He did not travel to College Park after getting injured against Indiana. The good news, sources tell me, there’s some optimism about his return for Michigan next week.”

It’s huge news and the college football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

The Buckeyes would obviously like to have both of them back when they take on rival Michigan in what will likely be a top-five showdown with College Football Playoff implications.
