When it comes to knowing what it takes to win at Ohio State, especially against “the team up north,” there are few who know better than Urban Meyer.

His successor, Ryan Day, has put together some solid seasons but has struggled against Michigan, losing two-straight games.

However, Meyer isn’t too worried about Day’s ability to figure out what it takes to get the Buckeyes back on track in the rivalry.

“I’m not sure there’s anybody that’s respected that rivalry as much as I have,” Meyer said earlier this week. “I studied it and we had it on boards everywhere about what they were doing offensively and defensively, and I had one coach that’s all he did: watch them year around. So when someone says the team up north wasn’t very good, I would look at them and say, you don’t really understand this rivalry.

“What do you got to do to beat them? You’ve got to control the line of scrimmage. Ryan reviewed that with the team with ten things of winning a game, and number one was controlling the line of scrimmage. There’s no one better (for the job). No doubt.”

If Day isn’t able to beat Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines this season, it might be pretty ugly in Columbus.
