Despite leading his team to back-to-back CFB Playoff Championship victories, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett may not even be drafted in this year’s NFL Draft.
But former NFL and college football coach Urban Meyer thinks that Bennett is one of the most underrated players in the country.
“Stetson Bennett is the most underrated player, I think, that has ever played the game,” Meyer said on All Things Covered. “I can’t believe how small that guy was. But he’s a monster, his leadership, his toughness, incredible.”
Bennett hasn’t exactly helped his cause to be drafted. He didn’t play in the Senior Bowl and he was arrested a few weeks ago after the CFB Playoff Championship Game while he visited Dallas.
If dratted, Bennett was not going high in the NFL Draft. He is likely to be a late-round draft choice if he is drafted at all according to some.
Bennett, who was a Heisman finalist, threw for over 4,000 yards and passed for 27 touchdowns in 2022. He also rushed for several touchdowns too.
No one knows if any of these recent incidents will affect Stetson Bennett’s draft stock but you have to think that he at some point will have to prove himself soon if he wants to be even considered for the draft. Despite all that, Urban Meyer will be in his corner.
