The USC Trojans scored a major win Sunday, getting a commitment from defensive lineman Bear Alexander out of the transfer portal.
The 6-3, 305-pound Alexander played for the national champion Georgia Bulldogs last season, recording nine tackles, including three for loss, and two sacks. He also recorded a sack in the national championship game.
A four-star recruit coming out of high school in Florida, Alexander was considered the top-ranked player remaining in the transfer portal.

Alexander will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Bulldogs players and coaches were surprised by Alexander’s recent decision to enter the portal. Head coach Kirby Smart said that’s the reality of college football today.
“You know, that’s the way of the world. It’s who handles it and manages it best. It’s a new climate we’re in,” Smart said (via DawgNation.com). “The window will open and all across the country there will be guys going in and looking for greener pastures. Ultimately the climate we have created and more power to them. We’ve got a lot of guys who have benefitted from the portal and I hope we benefit from the portal.”
Fans had mixed thoughts on Alexander’s decision, but most agreed it likely came down to money.
Yeah, they paid for a guy who likes to punch his teammates and is a cancer in the locker room. Glad Kirby has depth on the d line.

lmfao… he was always going to USC. Dont lie like this was a fight. USC dropped a bag on this man. Who starts for Georgia, wins a natty, and leaves to go to that dumpsterfire of a defense?

Georgia has too many scholarship players. He felt like he could leave and be an impact player elsewhere. Why would you blame him.

That’s a major drop off in conferences.
