If you’re a fan of contact sports, gigantic dunks, and trampolines, then there’s good news for you. SlamBall – an extreme sport that combined football and basketball with trampolines mixed in – is set to make its triumphant return.
SlamBall founder Mason Gordon announced to TMZ Sports on Wednesday that after hearing pleas from fans over the years, the extreme sport will officially be returning in the summer of 2023.
SlamBall, which debuted in 2002 and lasted only two years before folding, is a game similar to basketball, but full-contact and featuring trampolines placed throughout the playing floor.
Gordon said he always wanted to bring SlamBall back, but that they wanted market conditions to be just right. Now, with the popularization of social media and fewer people watching full-length sports games, Gordon thinks the time is right for SlamBall’s return.
Naturally, the sports world went absolutely wild in celebration of the news.
