We like our weird food stories here at The Comeback. You want to offer a burrito full of pop rocks, we are there. Pringles want to introduce a new, ridiculous flavor to its collection? We’ll give it a taste. Are you going to invent pizza-flavored ice cream? We want to know all the terrible details.

Every once in a while, however, we come across a flavor combination or brand combination so disturbing, that even we have to throw our hands up in the air and wonder if the human race has tapped out.

All of which brings us to cough-drop flavored Kit Kats.

Yes, Nestle has decided to take white chocolate and mix it together with “2.1 percent throat lozenge powder in every serving” for what they think creates a “fresh and invigorating flavor.”

The candy bar, which is an act of defiance against God, is only available in Japan, where it’s known as Kit Kat Nodo Ame Aji (Kit Kat Cough Drop Flavor). It appears to be themed around the 2018 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers and features Yasutaro Matsuki, a former soccer player, and current commentator, on the packaging. The limited edition candy flavor will only be available through September 10.

They retail for 140 yen, which comes out to around $1.28 U.S. That’s cheap enough to give it a try, so maybe it’s a good thing they’re half a world away and you won’t be able to.

To be fair, there’s still a case to be made it’s not the grossest thing Kit Kat has ever done.
