Frork

What’s better than eating food with a fork? Eating food with an edible fork!

McDonalds realized this and is making it a reality for people who visit the Golden Arches for a burger and fries.

THE FRORK HAS ARRIVED!

“Will the Frork change your life? Probably not,” pitchman Anthony Sullivan says in the video. “Will the Frork improve your Signature Crafted Recipes eating experience? I mean, sure… maybe.”

NBC News has reported, the fork made with french fries is a “superfluous” utensil, according to McDonalds, and was designed for customers to “scoop up every last bit” of new burgers and sandwiches the restaurant company has invented.

The sandwiches McDonalds is referring to are “upscale burgers and chicken sandwiches” that include flavors like Pico Guacamole, Sweet BBQ Bacon, and Maple Bacon Dijon. If a customer wants to use a “Frork” with one of them, they have to get to a McDonalds as soon as possible starting on May 5th.

There is a limited supply of Frorks available at participating McDonalds, and are only available with the purchase of a Signature Crafted Recipe sandwich. The special sandwiches being released by McDonalds with the Frork will cost customers between $4.99 and $5.19.

“We started with All Day Breakfast, updated our Chicken McNuggets, offered new Mac sandwich sizes for every occasion and now we’re introducing Signature Crafted Recipes because they are inspired by our customers,” Michael Haracz, McDonald’s chef, said in a statement. “And while the Frork is supremely superfluous, it shows that McDonald’s is willing to do whatever it takes to help them enjoy every last bite.”

Naturally, McDonalds got a lot of praise for the Frork just minutes after their announcement.

But they also received a lot of criticism for not calling it something better, like a “frydent”.

As I typically do with any food related post I write, here are some other food related utensils I hope to see in the future:

1. Waffle Cone Straw: This is something like this probably exists, but I haven’t seen one yet. We’ve seen licorice straws, but I want to drink a milkshake out of a waffle cone straw. The only problem with this is that the straw might get soggy and fall apart.

2. Sushi Chopsticks: I know what you’re probably thinking: chopsticks are chopsticks and you use them for sushi, so what do you mean? Well, I mean chopsticks that go with a specific roll to make the roll better. Imagine you order a spicy tuna roll and are given chopsticks that are made of tempura and coated with spicy mayo. And thus, you can take a bite out of the chopsticks when you eat the sushi!

3. Toast Fork: This is similar to the Frork, only it’s made out of toasted bread instead. That way, when you are eating scrambled eggs or an omelette, you can take a bite out of your toast fork and therefore avoid a giant piece of toast you have to take a bite of first!

4. Cereal Spoon/Stick: A spoon made out of your favorite cereal! Simply pour milk into a bowl and then take out a couple cereal spoons or sticks to dip in the milk. This could also work for cookie spoons or sticks to dip in the milk.
