Papa John's

Most people have to make the choice between pepperoni and sausage when ordering pizza, but some Papa John’s employees were adding an extra option on a secret menu until recently. Those who ordered “extra olives” on their pizza would get a baggie of cocaine inside their pizza box. Let’s just say these are not the better ingredients Papa John’s is known for advertising either.

Five people were arrested in Washington recently following a six-month investigation by the sheriff’s office. Two of those people were accused of selling drugs straight out of Papa John’s, using pizza orders as their strategy. Undercover detectives followed up on a tip about cocaine being sold by Papa John’s employees east of Seattle by ordering pizza with extra olives using the code phrase to secretly order cocaine.

“What the detectives would do is they’d order pizza and go out and wait in the parking lot,” said Sgt. Cindi West, spokeswoman for the King County Sheriff’s Office. “The employee would bring the pizza out and in the box would be the cocaine.”

Investigators dubbed it “Operation Extra Olives.”

“The operation got named because every time they’d order pizza, they’d say, ‘Give it extra olives,'” West said.

As the sting operation came to a close, $28,000 in cash, cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, LSD and other drugs were discovered. I cannot help but be curious what the code phrases were to order those other drugs with the pizza delivery. Feel free to come up with your best responses in the comment section below.

The managers of the Papa John’s branch were cooperative and unaware employees were using the store as a front for selling drugs, and the employees arrested by police were understandably fired by the Papa John’s location.
