Have you ever wanted to eat a taco and still have the fried chicken sensation you get at a place like KFC? Well, good news for you and bad news for your arteries, because Taco Bell plans to bring their experimental fried chicken taco shell nationwide beginning in 2017.

Fried. Chicken. Taco. Shells. God bless America.

According to Brand Eater, the fried chicken taco shell comes as part of Taco Bell’s Naked Chicken Chalupa. It had previously been available in certain areas on the west coast and has since migrated its way through the middle of the United States (surely adding on a few pounds around America’s middle sections in the process), but it has yet to reach the east coast. That will apparently change starting next year, when Taco Bell plans to roll out the menu item nationwide.

Now, I don’t know about you and your local Taco Bell, but I know I never get enough meat on my Taco Bell food. I never expect what I get on my tray or to go to look like it does in the picture, but it wouldn’t kill Taco Bell to put a little meat in my food. Perhaps this new chicken fried shell will help make sure we all get more meat in our taco. In the meantime, we all have a few more months to burn some calories to make room for this wonderful sounding combination of fast food tacos and fried chicken.
