college football playoff

It’s not easy to go undefeated throughout an entire college football regular season, but it looks like a few teams are going to have a very good shot at running the table this year as college football oddsmakers project six different teams to be favored in every single game the regular season.

Air Force, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Utah are projected to be favorites in all 12 regular season games during the 2022 season, according to college football reporter Brett McMurphy of The Action Network. The Crimson Tide and the Buckeyes are projected to be double-digit favorites in every regular season game.

If all six teams were to run the table during the regular season, it would certainly put some pressure on the College Football Playoff selection committee to narrow the field down to four teams, particularly since five of these teams are from Power Five conferences.

Based on past years, it’s unlikely Air Force would receive a bid to the playoff even if it did finish the season unbeaten due to its lack of a strong schedule as a Group of Five team, but Cincinnati proved last season it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

As for the other five teams, each would make a compelling case for inclusion in the playoff with an unbeaten regular season record. It’s also worth noting that if Alabama and Georgia both went undefeated during the regular season would have to meet each other in the SEC Championship game, which could set up another interesting conversation for the committee.

The college football season hasn’t even begun yet and we’re already talking wild hypotheticals.
