The year got off to a strong start for tech billionaire Elon Musk. After assisting 47th President of the United States Donald Trump on the campaign trail, Musk was named to Trump’s administration as an efficiency expert when Trump returned to the White House in January.
As an efficiency expert, Musk was put in charge of the new agency, DOGE. Since its implementation, DOGE has eliminated multiple government jobs and worked toward the closure of multiple agencies as well.
However, things have not gone as well for Musk as of late. Earlier this month, Musk dumped $25 million into Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race for the Republican candidate, Brad Schimel, making it the most expensive Supreme Court race in United States history.
Unfortunately for Musk, Democratic candidate Susan Crawford defeated Schimel, an embarrassing loss for Musk and the republicans.
Musk’s embarrassment isn’t stopping there, either. According to The Daily Beast, Musk recently quit playing his favorite video game in an explosion of rage after being cyberbullied during a live stream.
The game in question was Path of Exile 2, which Musk live-streamed on Saturday night. Not only was Musk reportedly horrible at the game, but within minutes, users logged on and commented things such as “please jerk off mr trump so he dies of a heart attack.”
The next half hour went even worse for Musk.
“For the next hour and a half, Musk sat in stony-faced silence and blasted techno music while dozens of users with names such as ELON_IS_A_PEEDOPHILE and ELON_MUSK_IS_PATHETIC repeatedly spammed the chat to tell him ‘YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS AND YOU WILL DIE ALONE’ and ‘YOU WILL ALWAYS FEEL INSECURE AND IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY,’” per Tom Sanders of The Daily Beast.
It’ll be interesting to see how Musk tries to spin this as a win.
