The SNES Classic has been rumored for quite a while following last year’s success of the NES Classic, and on Monday, Nintendo officially confirmed that the SNES Classic will be released on September 29th, and will include a total of 21 games, including the never released Star Fox 2.

The SNES will retail for $79.99, and here’s the list of the 21 games that will be included, per Kotaku.

Contra III: The Alien Wars™
Donkey Kong Country™
EarthBound™
Final Fantasy III
F-ZERO™
Kirby™ Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Course™
The Legend of Zelda™: A Link to the Past™
Mega Man® X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox™
Star Fox™ 2
Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV™
Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts®
Super Mario Kart™
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars™
Super Mario World™
Super Metroid™
Super Punch-Out!! ™
Yoshi’s Island™

Oh yeah, I can get behind this.

Back in April, our staff discussed the games we wanted to see included in a SNES Classic release. 11 of the 21 games that will be on the system were mentioned by our staff (12 if we count any version of Street Fighter II instead of a specific version), so I think we did a pretty good job with our choices.

Hopefully, Nintendo learned from the fiasco of the NES Classic launch and subsequent discontinuing of the product and will be able to adequately meet the demand of customers across the world.
