In a tale as old as time, two female employees of an adult toy store in California foiled an attempted robbery. But it gets better: they did so by flinging some of the store’s finest wares back at the assailant. And it somehow gets better than that: there’s video.

This story comes to us courtesy KABC-7, whose report offers this background:

The attempted robbery, caught on surveillance video, happened Wednesday around 9:45 p.m. just before closing at Lotions & Lace. A man walked in with his face covered pointing what appeared to be a gun. Store employee “Amy” said she wasn’t scared. She was convinced the gun was a fake and she was having none of it.

“With the gun, he walked in. I just thought he was trying to be funny, to scare us,” she said. “But then I saw the gun and it was like, really? I don’t have time for this.”

That’s pretty badass, especially considering that fake gun or not, the would-be robber was still bent on harm. He grabbed Amy, and that’s when things started flying. Check the surveillance video:

Those clerks were having none of it.

She started yelling at him, and at one point he grabbed her. That’s when a coworker at the store started throwing sex toys at him. Eventually he fled the store empty-handed.

“I think he was a coward,” said the store’s other employee. “Coming in and trying to get over on two females and not realizing that were pretty feisty.”

They must be Bills fans. The suspect is still out there, and the link contains a few more surveillance cam images of him, if you happen to be in the San Bernardino area and recognize this idiot.

The two clerks certainly deserve the praise they’re getting online. Their decision to fight back might not have been the safest choice, but considering everyone ended up okay, it’s hard to imagine a happier ending.
