Imagine you’re a hurdler, you trip over your first two hurdles and see your opponents ahead of you, what do you do? If you’re this hurdler from China, you just simply run through the rest of your hurdles.

In the Chinese University Games, this runner got out of the blocks alright. But after jumping over and knocking down his first two hurdles, he decides to just say “screw it” and blast through the rest of the hurdles as if he’s the “Incredible Hulk” without breaking stride.

Once the hurdler committed to plowing through the hurdles, he busted through his next three hurdles like a running back powering through defenders. One pesky hurdle decided to not snap like a twig and the runner almost face planted into the other lane, completely ruining that guy’s race. Then, instead of getting back into his original lane, the hurdler somewhat attempts to jump the final hurdle in his new lane and “finished” 3rd.

Well, he would have finished 3rd if he hadn’t committed multiple violations that got him disqualified throughout the race. For one, the guy already crossed over into the next lane after the second hurdle, prompting disqualification. Also, intentionally knocking down hurdles will get you disqualified. Not to mention, impeding the progress of those next to you is grounds for disqualification.

But despite multiple violations and clear disregard for everything around him, this hurdler still finished the race and went viral at the same time. And when you know you’re woefully behind in a race and have no chance of winning, maybe throwing caution to the wind and blasting everything in front of you is the logical next step.
