The Southern Connecticut Conference Tournament was hit with rain for the North Haven and Amity game, so the teams got creative and settled things with… rock-paper-scissors.

Yep, North Have and Amity faced off in a rock-paper-scissors game to decide the winner of (what was supposed to be) a baseball game. The two teams were really into it, and it made for an awesome scene at Bob DeMayo Sports Complex.

North Haven came away with a 5-4 victory, but as GameTimeCT’s Peter Paguaga explains, the victory will likely not hold (thanks to the no-fun police at the the SCC commissioner’s office):

And, after 11 tense rounds, it was the Indians who came from behind to defeat the Spartans 5-4, ostensibly advancing to the SCC semifinals and giving North Haven coach Bob DeMayo’s 900th victory. It was Amity’s first SCC quarterfinal loss in SCC baseball playoff history…

Well, ok, maybe not. We’re awaiting a ruling on that from the SCC commissioner’s office. It probably won’t hold.

Paguaga even had an amazing box score for this rock-paper-scissors battle.
