Spanish athlete Bruno Hortelano had nothing short of a memorable post-game interview that he will remember for quite a long time.

After running the 200M in the European Athletic Championships, Hortelano spoke with a reporter following the race, in which he assumed that he placed second. However, the Spanish runner was immediately confused as to why the reporter asked how he felt after winning gold when, as far as he knew, he had earned silver. But, after clearing up some language confusion in communication, Hortelano then realized mid-interview that he had placed gold instead of silver, as the other runner had apparently been disqualified after the race ended.

Needless to say, he had the perfect response upon learning about his newfound status as a gold-medal earner.

It’s fairly safe to assume that, in a span of roughly two minutes, Hortelano’s day went from good to great. Yet another shining moment in this thing we call sports.
