After hours upon hours of spelling words nobody in their life will be likely to reiterate ever again, the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee ended in a tie.

Jairam Hathwar and Nihar Janga went word for word until there were no more words to be spelled, and each were crowned champions of this year’s spelling bee. Those watching or paying attention on Twitter know who the real champion was though.

As he spelled his final word correctly to clinch a tie, Janga made like Dez Bryant and threw up an “X” in celebration. Hey, it’s better than dabbing, right?

Dez took notice and promised to hook Nihar up with a Cowboys game at a later point in time.

Or maybe Nihar was just excited about the upcoming X-Men movie? Regardless, Nihar had already become the star of the night when a camera caught him shaking his head as his competition struggled on a word, and also caught him clapping in the face of Hathwar.

Meanwhile on Twitter, whoever was behind the Scripps Spelling Bee account was savage.

Not content with having that ultimate burn unloaded on one Twitter user, the account later made sure to correct another person on the proper spelling of a commonly misused word and contraption.

Next time you try to talk trash about the spelling bee, you better have a good spellcheck working for you.
