Who says cross country isn’t a contact sport? One unfortunate runner found out the hard way that the sport can most certainly be a contact sport, when running through a field with deer.

This is pretty standard stuff for the sport. What is not so usual is a pack of deer looking to get away. An as the deer are trying to get away from the race, one deer collides with a runner, knocking him to the ground as though he was a defenseless wide receiver on the receiving end of a Von Miller tackle.

Not shown on the camera was a college football ref throwing a flag for targeting. Upon further review, the targeting was upheld and the deer was ejected from the race.
